A Perfect Combination: How Science & Spirituality Can Enhance Healing

Chaplain Roberta Sonsaray White

Far too often, we solely lean on scientific interventions to provide healing for a variety of ailments.  Although research has been lacking in the field of spiritual contributions to healing, a new day is upon us and data is helping Spiritual Practitioners to make a case for the healing power encompassed in spirituality.  This presentation is designed to help us examine how fusing scientific and spiritual interventions can help enhance healing outcomes.

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

1.  Examine the benefit of scientific and spiritual interventions on holistic healing.

2.  Discuss the impact of spirituality on healthcare outcomes.

3.  Explore how infusing spirituality into one's practice can enhance the quality of support provided.

Chaplain Roberta Sonsaray is an Urban Ministry graduate (M.Div. 2012) of the Wesley Theological Seminary. She is also a Certified Candidate for Deacon’s orders in the Baltimore/Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, CEO/Founder at RSWhite Expressions, and author of Spiritual Metamorphosis.

Chaplain White learned to “Jump at the Sun!” which means to reach for that which you believe God wants you to have.  She believes that from great struggle comes great progress.  She is a woman unmarred by the hardships of life and embraces a spirit of ministry that holistically engages patients with complex behavioral health issues. With collaborative psychiatric research, she developed a tool, Approaches to Psychiatric Spiritual Care, used to train Chaplain Interns on best practices for providing spiritual care to behavioral health patients.
